Mission Statement of the Cordova Police Department

    Chief Krimson Culverson

A Message from the Police Chief

My name is Krimson Culverson and I serve as the Chief of Police of the Cordova Police Department. It is my honor and privilege to serve Cordova as your Police Chief since my appointment in November 2021. The police department strives to maintain law and order, improve the quality of life for residents and visitors alike, and form positive and lasting relationships with the members of our community.

The police department is comprised of full-time and part-time police officers, along with six police dispatchers. We are an effective, skilled, and progressive organization made up of men and women who live out our mission of partnering with our community and protecting our citizens, while respecting the rights and dignity of all persons. Our police officers and support staff possess the highest standards of personal and professional integrity, enabling them to prevent crime, enforce our laws, work as community problem-solvers, and serve as an example to others.

I am proud to say I grew up in Cordova-attending Cordova Elementary, Bankhead Middle, and Cordova High. I have so many memories from my youth right here in Cordova. I played sports here. I experienced homecoming parades and Friday night football games. I was in the 10th grade when the April 27th, 2011, tornado outbreak occurred and ravaged our city.  I am an alumnus of Cordova High School in the class of 2013. In 2016, the City of Cordova hired me as a police officer trainee and sponsored my police academy attendance. Cordova has always been and continues to be a large part of my life.

We want our agency to be the standard of excellence when it comes to the law enforcement profession. When citizens and visitors alike think of Cordova, I want our police department to be one of the most positive things that comes to mind. I stand with a hardworking and dedicated team of police officers and support staff. Our focus will continue to be on making Cordova a better and safer place for those who live, work, and visit our city.
